The Thruster

Davidstow Flying Club has been in existence for nearly forty years. Originally known as the Moorland Flying club, it is a not for profit organization owned by the members for the members.  Often referred to as the ‘home of the Thruster’, it was back in the 1980’s when Ian Stokes started importing Thruster kit aeroplanes from Australia and building them in nearby Camelford that the Club first became active.

The Club then had a vibrant membership and specialized in training people to fly on a variety of different types of Microlights. Davidstow Flying Club is still based at Davidstow airfield, and continues to train people to fly.

The aim of the Club is to offer ‘affordable flying’ to people from all different walks of life.  The Club exists to teach people to become pilots, as a place where people can keep and fly their aeroplanes and as a social center for people who share a common enthusiasm for aviation.

Whether you want to fly a fixed wing microlight, a flexwing microlight a motor glider or a Paramotor, or indeed if you just want to call in and see what goes on and have a chat, Davidstow Flying Club will always give you a very warm welcome.
